ALDO A-LIST EVENT with STYLE SAVER x VERLICO

ALDO A-LIST EVENT

By: Justine Barnes

ALDO A-LIST Style Saver

Aldo on Robson Street partnered with The Style Saver and Verlico for an event on Friday, Nov 21st. The exciting atmosphere during the event was infectious.  Guests were treated to colorful drinks, a candy bar and showered with deals on all the merchandise in the store.  In addition, a fashion show showcased chic fall/winter looks to the guests.

The Style Saver is a blog belonging to Elizabeth Manuntag, which she started up when she began thrifting and consignment store shopping in her attempts to save money on fashion.  She partnered with Aldo for this event because she has a history of working for the company and continues to style her outfits with Aldo shoes and Accessories.  A few of her favorite consignment and thrift stores are Hunter and Hare, Mine & Yours, Turnabout and Value Village.  Elizabeth will continue to thrift and consignment shop to encourage a sustainable lifestyle and plans to travel and explore the sustainable culture in other cities, connecting with other bloggers and insiders who have similar passions.  ALDO A-LIST Vancouver Robson Street

Verlico is a website that offers an amazing way to discover new bloggers and brands and to view a variety of different styles and inspirational outfits.  It is a social sharing platform that enables us to search and keep track of our friends, bloggers and brands.  Fashion folk are able to upload their own looks and tag the designers or direct product links through their outfit, making shopping for viewers that little bit easier.

Overall, a fabulous event to attend and enjoy the company of like-minded fashion individuals. I have a feeling this will be an event that will continue to be held, seeing how successful it was.

PERSONAL SHOPPING with BCBGMAXAZRIA x RANDA SALLOUM – Look 4

Today I bring you LOOK 4 – the last look of my series and collaboration with BCBGMAXAZRIA and Randa Salloum.  And we have saved the most dazzling and super cute booty shaker for last!

If you missed what all the fuss was about this last week, catch up here for Look 1, Look 2, Look 3.  Which look is your favourite ?

This look, perfect to ring in the New Year, was inspired by Yaletown, another one of our favourite stomping grounds.

The dress on its own is a statement piece, but it’s also one that you can push a little further and go OTT with, especially for a New Year’s celebration.  With that said, we added even more sparkle with the blinged-up kitty ears, rock-crystal clutch (to balance out the ears and embellished crop), and textured snake-print/lace ankle booties.  How gorgeous does Randa look – Meeow !

This look, while perfect for many body shapes would work especially well for someone with a straight up and down (ruler) silhouette as the embellished crop layer and the feathered skirt add a little volume, giving the illusion of a more of a nipped in waist.

Randa’s Outfit: Dress / Heels / Headband / Clutch

My Outfit: Jersey TopLeggings / Black Long Sleeve Top / Black Sheer Sleeveless Top / Studded Heels

LOOK 3 – YALETOWN RAZZLE DAZZLE

PERSONAL SHOPPING with BCBGMAXAZRIA x RANDA SALLOUM – LOOK 3

LOOK 3 of my collaboration with BCBGMAXAZRIA x RANDA SALLOUM brings a completely different vibe today – pure elegance!

I have to admit, and it’s a tough choice I know, but this may be my favourite look of the series – although you’re in for a treat tomorrow too!  Click on Look 1 and Look 2, if you haven’t see them.

Most of you who know/follow Randa on The Unprecedented, know that she rocks her black, grey and white neutrals like nobody’s business, so having her in a top to toe, Bare Pink tone on tone might come as a lovely surprise – doesn’t she just radiate in this warm colour!

Inspired by our next favourite Vancouver turf, Coal Harbour, we went for plenty of layering, which not only creates interest in a one tone outfit, it also creates a chic, relaxed, sophisticated look.  Despite being completely covered up, the sequenced leggings, strappy heels and slight turn up of the sleeves, showing off Randa’s delicate wrists, ooze the perfect amount of sexy.

Tone on tone is great for someone wanting to create length and if you’re slightly top heavy, wearing anything shiny on the bottom will always help add a little volume to balance you out on top ;p

Randa’s Outfit: Blouse / Boxy Top / Sequined Leggings / Ring

My Outfit: Jersey TopLeggings / Black Long Sleeve Top / Black Sheer Sleeveless Top / Studded Heels

GAP CANADA’S 25 ANNIVERSARY

By: Clear Zhong

To me, the holidays only begin once the Gap ads have started. I remember all of the goodies over the years, especially the ones starring Sarah Jessica Parker—so fantastic!” – Cara McLeay from afashionloveaffair.com, Vancouver’s much loved fashion blogger.

Right – Cara McLeay

It’s fitting then, that on the eve of the brand’s quarter-century anniversary in Canada (which we were able to attend on Robson Street), that the fresh design direction takes cues from the must-have pieces of American youth, with its all-American aesthetic that resonates globally, including the ubiquitous heather-grey Gap logo sweatshirt.

01

Gap is a culture clinging to the feel-good “the home of casual fashion” nostalgia. So many people have that fond memory of the perfect sweatshirt, which was most likely one from Gap. As such, stores are being stocked with familiar pieces this fall, including the iconic staples selected by Flare Magazine editors, and 2015 fall trends.

Style Diary – Fall Folk

The cape scarf – how I love thee!

There are a number of ways to wrap up in one of these beauties this fall – here are just a few examples below.  I love to pin mine in place with my vintage pin (aka – self defense weapon) ;p  They are easy to throw over anything really and I found this look to really complement my tapestry folk print coat from Topshop, which I am obsessed about at the moment.

Outfit: Dress & bag – Zara / Folk print Coat – Topshop / Hat – Aritzia / Heels – H&M / Cape scarf – Winners / Pin – Vintage

Bump: 28 Weeks
