Fall Make-Up Trends 2014
By: Justine N Barnes
It is that time of the year again, fall – my personal favorite! The perfect season to transition your favorite summer fashion pieces into fall looks to pull off great, layered fashion trends. That being said, we cannot forget about switching up our summer make-up routine and transitioning them to fall looks. So, we must talk about fall make-up trends for 2014!
Teaming up with Beauty Mark, in Yaletown, and Make-up Artist, Laura Murray in Vancouver, we created a list of key must-have items to incorporate a quick and easy look into your fall routine. With events like Vancouver Fashion Week coming up, this is the perfect opportunity to show off your fall make-up and wardrobe.
- Simple Subtle Skin– Using an amazing skin primer like “skinperfect primer” by Dermalogica, is key, and deservingly named because of how outstanding it makes your skin look. Retailing at $67, this is a great way to set your skin up before applying your make-up. Your make-up will stay on all day/night and continue to give you a nice glow. It will help keep the skin looking clean and refreshed, while embracing your natural skin color and after your summer tan fades away.
- Metallic eyes– If you want to add some pop to your eyes, metallic eye shadow is the way to go this season. Load on the mascara with this look and it will really stand out. This look can easily work for day and night. We used 2 colors by Stila, “Cloud” and “Diamond lil” which retails at around $30.
- Matte red wine lips– Its not overly chic to be enjoying a glass (or two) of red wine and end up with stained red lips, but this season it won’t be noticeable with the deep red lipstick you choose to wear for a night out. We mixed 4 colors by Ilia and Kevyn Aucoin to get the perfect deep sangria color. These lipsticks range from $30 – $34.
AND don’t forget, great eyebrows is a must for every season ;p
