Albeit shapeless and boxy, it still exudes elegance. A big trend this spring, I paired this shirt dress with another trend still with us from last year – the blanket cape. Perfect for layering and super comfortable to sit and watch a series of runway shows in ;p
For those that know me, from the moment I moved to Vancouver 4 years ago, my aim has been to highlight local designers and boutiques and showcase their talent either on my blog, in editorials or at local events. This season I’m more than honored to show off a gorgeous piece by emerging designer Alex S. Yu’s from his s/s 2015 collection at Vancouver Fashion Week.
I love the exaggerated shape and structure of this top and the metallic patch work – bang on trend for Spring and Summer this year. I wanted to draw out the pink and red tones in the plastic foil fabric, so I paired it with a lustrous red skirt and red lips and nails.
A smackering of red – THE colour of this fall and winter. If you don’t want to go full on red from top to toe, this is the perfect way to incorporate it to stay on trend ;p
The Topshop coat pulled this fun back-to-school preppy look together just perfectly and it strangely reminds me of those big storage bags from the $$$ shop in London (my London peeps will know what I’m talking about ;p)
Graphic prints, sporty street and 60s mod silhouettes!
This was certainly a fun outfit for Vancouver Fashion Week. I was drawn like a moth to a flame with this bold paintbrush print in a 60s mod style dress. I added a bit of street with the printed leggings and a bit of sporty spice with the mesh layer underneath. A little contrasting pop of colour never hurt anyone either – so paired it up with my fave blue suede ankle booties ;p
